During the summer of 2015, I did an internship as an Research Assistant in the Advanced Processors Technologies(APT) Research Group, the origin of the world's first stored-program computer, in the School of Computer Science, University of Manchester. I worked with Dr. Dirk Koch, and investigated partial reconfiguration using Altera FPGAs. As a result, we wrote a paper:
A Partial Reconfiguration Controller for Altera Stratix V FPGAs
The International Conference on Field-Programmable Logic and Applications (FPL) 2016
"The paper presents details and the flow for implementing partial reconfiguration using Altera FPGAs, as well as a study on configuration bitstream sizes and configuration speeds for various resource and bounding-box aspect ratio variants. The results are used to build a partial reconfiguration controller that is featuring a lightweight but effective bitstream decompression module for greatly improving configuration speed on a DE5-net board."
Life Style
I am a big fan in sports, I was a member of high school football team, and put together the first extreme sports club in high school, although it was closed by teachers after a while. In the university, I am a member of sky diving club, and I loves to ski during winter. Cycling is one of my favorite sports as well, I once cycled between two provinces in China, which is about 500km apart.
Besides doing sports, I also likes watching sports...ok, that doesn't count. I like food, same as all other people from my hometown, that's why I took a cooking course, passed some tests, and is now a certified chinese chef. But I still love eating more than cooking.
What else? A lot... I took part time French courses during second year in uni as well as my placement year. I am a backpacker too...... If you want to know more about me, you can simply buy me a drink and ask!
